It’s hard to believe, but it has now been three full years since I was forced to create the John Eastman Legal Defense Fund.
Boy was I naïve about what I was facing back in November 2021 when I first asked friends, colleagues and fellow conservatives for help. At the time, I thought I’d need $100,000 in financial support to deal with the brewing legal battles that were being talked about on the left.
Fast forward to now, and we’re not dealing with mere brewing threats. We’re dealing with actual, ongoing attacks against my reputation, livelihood and very freedom.
It’s been quite an unimaginable experience. Some on the left would cheer if I was to be killed. Others want to destroy my ability to make a living as a lawyer. Still others want me in prison for the rest of my life. All of the players in the lawfare left want to use my experience as a painful lesson to other lawyers that they dare not take on conservative causes or candidates that threaten the hegemony of the left’s worldview.
My “crime” was representing President Trump in bringing forth questions about improprieties and illegalities during the 2020 president election.
The left has gotten my law license placed on temporary inactive status in California, forced me to be interrogated by the despicable January 6th Committee in the House, made a target of me by Jack Smith, and indicted me in two states – Georgia and Arizona. My defense fund has had to grow from a goal of $100,000 to needing to raise $1,500,000, and likely more before all is said and done.
As distasteful as this three-year (and continuing) experience has been, there is one aspect to it that my family and I are most thankful for – the support we have received from you and others who have stood by our side.
As America celebrates the special national holiday of Thanksgiving, I want to express my sincere gratitude to you for the financial support you have shown to my legal defense fund. Your friendship, prayers, and support are what has sustained me and my family over these past three years.
America’s first national Thanksgiving holiday was proclaimed by President George Washington in 1789. Washington used his Proclamation to unite the nation in rendering unto God sincere and humble thanks. Washington recited many specifics, including for “the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness” and “the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge.”
As we work together to continue to fight to protect the Constitution that God enabled, and the rule of law reflecting our acquired and diffused knowledge, my family and I wish to acknowledge and express our great appreciation for the bounty of your friendship, prayers, and support.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
John Eastman
