I’m sure you know that the Georgia Court of Appeals has removed the disgraced DA Fani Willis (and her office) from prosecuting the case against me, President Trump and others because of her unethical conduct in hiring her lover, Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade.
She’s appealing that ruling, but most legal experts believe it will hold. That should be good news for me because it provides an opportunity for the prosecution to be dismissed.
But unfortunately, should be dismissed doesn’t mean will be dismissed. A number of other ambitious liberal DAs appear to be quietly lining up behind the scenes to take over the case and try to put me in prison for decades.
While we wait for things to unfold in Georgia, my legal bills are mounting rapidly. My defense fund is nearly exhausted and fending off the rampaging lawfare left requires me to rebuild it promptly. I urgently ask you to step forward with a generous donation today to the John Eastman Legal Defense Fund.
With Willis removed, it will be up to the Georgia state Prosecuting Attorneys Council to decide what to do with the prosecution. There is strong precedent for them to dismiss the case against me because they have already done so in the case against Lt. Governor (and former State Senator) Burt Jones.
Willis was investigating Jones for various alleged crimes including conspiracy because he served as an alternate elector for President Trump. Incredibly, while criminally targeting Jones, she headlined a fundraising event for his opponent – a serious ethical violation. Jones filed a complaint and a judge disqualified Willis, referring the case to the state Prosecuting Attorneys Council for review. This past September, the Council dismissed the case against Mr. Jones, finding he had committed no crime.
Just as Burt Jones committed no crime in serving as an alternate elector to allow President Trump’s challenges to be developed, I committed no crime in helping President Trump bring forth those challenges.
The Fani Willis disqualification should be upheld and the case against me and everyone else be dismissed. But my legal team is picking up information on the ground that other ambitious “progressive” DAs may be interested in taking over the prosecution, perhaps in the belief that doing so might boost their name ID and liberal bona fides in potentially seeking higher office.
The entire situation in Georgia has been incredibly unfair, and incredibly expensive. The current back and forth with Fani Willis only adds to the difficulty and expense of the case. That’s why I hope you are able to make a donation today to my legal defense fund of $25, $50, $100, $250 or $500 or more.
Thank you for whatever you can do as we continue the battle in Georgia and elsewhere.
Sincerely,
John Eastman
